New Yorker Meets Chickens: Week 6

Six Weeks!
Yup, they've lost their baby feathers...
here's the proof!

I know one day I'll look back on this and think,
"Did I really have chickens living IN my house for six  weeks?"

Here we are in our daily time with the chickens.

We had a friend come over today and enjoy our 'chicken time' with us!

So, everyone asks, "What do the chickens do all day in the bathroom?"
Well, they sit altogether either on the box or on the bathroom cabinet.

Crazy, isn't it?

and they sit on the sink and poop.

And Yes, they have taken over the kids bathroom...

no one uses it anymore.

SO, here is the coop!
(It's almost complete, but enough for the pullets to move in).

A trap door for them to get down into the chicken run.
(Cool isn't it? My husband is a genius!)

My husband put in a shelf, at the window,
and two perches for them to sit on.
(One on top and one on the floor).

Time to put the hay and pine shavings in...

everyone wants to help.

Bringing the chickens down and
OUT!

The parade of chickens =)

In you go...

every last one!

Their NEW home.

ALL of us were just so excited!

The kids ran around the back yard looking for worms
for the chickens to eat.

The End...

or is it only the beginning?
